Old Hunstanton Beach
Take a walk from the car park past the lifeboat station and beach cafe and you will find yourself on a glorious sandy beach. It's not difficult to find a private spot at Old Hunstanton even in busy times. The beach is lined with sand dunes and colourful beach huts. To the right of the cafe, the beach stretches along the coast towards Holme-Next-The-Sea. To the left you will find Hunstanton's famous red and white striped cliffs. After a hard day relaxing on the beach you can enjoy refreshments on the lawn at the rear of The Ancient Mariner Inn overlooking the dunes and sea.
Brancaster Staithe
Visit Brancaster harbour at any time of year and you will soon see why it is so popular. Always busy with boats and people. Here you can enjoy local crab, lobster and crayfish in freshly prepared baguettes - delicious! A short drive along the coast road you will also find the Fish Shed, which stocks a wide range of fresh fish and shellfish. Locally there is also a good selection of shops and frequent art and photography exhibitions
Burnham Market
Burnham Market is a bustling village just inland from Brancaster. Here you will find fine food and drink, quaint shops, trendy boutiques and art galleries. A must for any visitor to the area any time of year, Burnham Market has a huge amount on offer and is easily accessible from anywhere on the coast.
The North Norfolk Railway
The North Norfolk Railway runs from Holt to Sheringham. This is a great way to explore further along the coast. Take a drive to Holt where you will find ample free parking at the station. You cant then take the steam train through wood and heath along the coast. The stations are lovingly restored and the staff really make the whole experience. The views are fantastic and what better way to arrive at a classic seaside town. Sheringham has lots of great places to eat and lots of shops. Don't miss the train back though!
